Workshops in Palm Coast at Vivo Art Studio is an engaging and educational place for artists of all skill levels. Our workshops cover various mediums, including watercolor, acrylic, oil painting, and drawing. Each session is designed to enhance artistic knowledge, develop technical skills, and encourage personal expression. Participants will have the opportunity to work on still-life compositions, portraits, and abstract art while receiving professional guidance from experienced instructor.
Our workshops focus on painting, drawing and sketching offering personalized instruction for every level – from foundational techniques for newcomers to advanced methods for experienced artists. Specialized sessions delve into various mediums, including watercolors, acrylics, and charcoal, allowing participants to explore and refine their unique artistic style. Drawing Workshop for Children | March 29th, 2025

Beginners
This Children’s Beginner Drawing Workshop at Vivo Art Studio is designed for young artists taking their first steps into the world of art. During this one-hour session, little artists will be introduced to fundamental concepts such as measurements, proportions, and composition. They will learn how to observe and scale objects accurately while gaining an understanding of how to arrange elements within a drawing to create balance and harmony.
The workshop will also explore shading techniques, allowing students to practice different methods of adding depth and dimension to their artwork. Additionally, they will be introduced to various types of pencils used in drawing, learning how each one contributes to texture and detailing. This hands-on experience provides a fun and supportive environment where children can build confidence in their artistic abilities while discovering the joy of creative expression.

Watercolor Workshop for Children | April 5th, 2025
From 10am – 11am | Ages 6 – 13 | Cost $35
This watercolor workshop is designed to help children develop a better understanding of painting with watercolors. Participants will work on a still-life composition featuring one object and fabric while using floor easels, either sitting or standing.
The focus of the workshop will be on exploring and expressing the textures and forms of fabric and the object through watercolor. Before painting, children will first position the object on paper using a pencil. While a basic understanding of composition and proportions is preferred, it is not required.
Additionally, we will cover fundamental color theory and color mixing to enhance their artistic skills.

Open Studio Art Event for Children | May 3rd, 2025
From 10am – 11am | Ages 6 – 12
This event is free of charge and exclusively for students who are currently enrolled and attending the studio on a weekly basis.
Vivo Art Studio is excited to host a special Open Studio Art Event, where young artists will have the opportunity to explore and recreate famous artworks through tracing and acrylic painting. This engaging and educational session is designed to introduce children to the techniques of renowned artists while encouraging their own creativity and self-expression.
In this event, participants will begin by tracing iconic masterpieces, allowing them to study the composition, lines, and details that make these works so timeless. Once their outlines are complete, they will bring their art to life using vibrant acrylic paints, adding their own unique touches and interpretations. This process helps children build confidence in their artistic abilities while learning about color theory, brush techniques, and creative storytelling through art.
Guided by our studio instructor, they will not only develop practical skills but also gain a deeper appreciation for the great artists who have shaped the art world. Whether your child is an aspiring artist or simply loves to create, this open studio event promises to be an exciting and enriching experience filled with imagination, learning, and artistic exploration.

Watercolor Workshop for Adults | May 10th, 2025

This watercolor workshop is perfect for beginner artists looking to explore the watercolor medium. Throughout the session, we will cover an introduction to essential watercolor materials and tools, including brushes, paper, and paints. Students will also learn fundamental watercolor techniques such as dry-on-dry, wet-on-wet, and semi-wet-on-dry, helping them build a strong foundation in watercolor painting.
Flower Watercolor Painting Workshop is designed for adults of beginner and intermediate students., During this workshop we offer a relaxing and inspiring environment to explore the art of painting delicate flowers with watercolors.
During this session, participants will learn essential watercolor techniques, including blending, layering, and creating vibrant washes. The workshop focuses on capturing the natural beauty of flowers, teaching you how to bring their intricate shapes and subtle color variations to life.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, our expert instructor will guide you offering tips on brush control, composition, and adding dimension through light and shadow.

Introduction to Soft Pastels & Practice
Are you ready to explore the vibrant and expressive world of soft pastels? Vivo Art Studio invites you to a beginner-friendly soft pastel painting workshop, where you’ll learn the essentials of this rich and versatile medium. Whether you’re picking up pastels for the first time or looking to refine your skills, this workshop will guide you through the fundamentals while allowing room for creativity and personal expression.
Soft pastels are known for their intense color, velvety texture, and effortless blending. Unlike other painting mediums, pastels don’t require brushes or water – just pure pigment in stick form, allowing for direct and immediate application. We love them for their rich, luminous colors and the ability to create everything from bold, dramatic strokes to delicate, soft shading.
What You’ll Learn in the Workshop – Understanding Pastel Types & Surfaces – Learn about different kinds of pastels (soft, hard, pan pastels) and the best papers for achieving various effects. Blending & Layering Techniques – Discover how to blend colors seamlessly using your fingers, blending tools, or pastel brushes. Mark-Making & Texture – Experiment with different strokes, hatching, and scumbling to create depth and movement.

Color Theory Workshop for Adults | October, 2025
From 10am – 12pm | Ages 16 and up | Cost $60
Colors play a crucial role in any painting. If you want to enhance your understanding of color mixing and application, this workshop is perfect for you!
Designed for beginner students looking to grasp the fundamentals of color theory, this workshop will focus on working with watercolor. We will start with a pencil drawing before applying color. Students will have two still-life setups in front of them – one featuring primarily cool (cold) colors and the other warm colors. The still-life compositions will include fabrics along with two to three additional objects.
During this two-hour workshop, students will draw both still-life setups on A3 watercolor paper. To succeed in this exercise, a basic understanding of composition, proportions, and measurement in art is required.
Please note that prior experience with watercolor is preferable. While we will be working at tables, your artwork will be elevated to challenge you as an artist and encourage a more professional approach to watercolor painting.

The workshop will also introduce participants to effective methods for positioning objects on paper and applying light and shadow techniques to enhance their drawings. Through hands-on guidance, children will develop their observational skills and build confidence in their artistic abilities.
