Pastel Lessons
Our studio offers soft pastel art lessons for adults and children. The lessons are held on Tuesdays during the group art lessons. Students will learn and experience working with soft pastels sketching and drawing. All art supplies and materials are included.
Pastel Painting
Our favorite kind of pastel are soft type pastels. These pastels are the traditional form of pastel pencils and also the most used. They have a very high concentration of pigment that is held together by the least amount of gum binder as possible. Please note that soft pastels are crumble very easily, but their colors are wonderful and bright.
Soft pastels are composed of pigment, water and a smaller amount of chalk or artificial binder. The soft texture of these pastels created unbelievably beautiful art compositions! The final results are smooth, have smudgy lines and intense colors.
Please note that soft pastels cannot be mixed on a palette (to create a different colors like we do with watercolor or acrylics) and for this reason we use an extensive range of colors.
Pastel Lessons for Children
Pastel art lessons for kids are offered on Tuesdays from 4pm – 5pm, 5pm – 6pm, 6pm – 7pm and priced at $145 for four (4) x 1 hour art lessons. We accept children starting at 5 years old. Our pastel art lessons for children include composition and sketching, color theory, shadow/light practice.
The studio runs 3 (three) art groups for children. We have 5 – 10 students per class.
We don’t work with oil pastel pencils.
Pastel Lessons for Adults
Pastel art lessons for adults in a group are offered on Tuesdays from 11am – 12:15pm and priced at $235 for a total of 5 hours art lessons. We accept students from basic to advance skill levels in pastel media. The student are welcomed to use their own materials or a combination of both (personal materials + studio materials and supplies).
Private (one-to-one) pastel lessons and courses are available upon request. Please contact us via our contact form to request instructor availability.
Payment
Please note that payment is collected upon the student’s arrival at the studio. The initial sign up requires advance payment covering four (4) x 1 hour art lessons. Although payments are non refundable, you can reschedule a missed art lesson provided that you call, text or e-mail us at least 24 hours before your class.
